The Business Institute of Australia (BIA) specialises in delivering business and accounting courses. In early 2016, the campus was relocated from Sydney CBD to Broadway Shopping Centre in Ultimo. So the management took this opportunity to update their corporate branding altogether with the newly renovated campus.

This project was to update their logo which will also reflected much of their corporate documents, stationery, marketing material and website. The original logo has a very traditional look, which makes it hard to utilise it with different media. The aim is to simplify the logo so that it becomes more contemporary and easier to use with different kinds of media that we plan to implement in the future.

Initially, we start off with simplifying the logo and sending it to the print designers for application to the rest of the marketing collateral. During that time, I started working on the new website development. The original website was made without a content management system and we decided to update it through WordPress so that it’s easier to manage. The site map has also been simplified compared to the previous version. This is in order to make it more comprehensive and easy to navigate for both new students and agents.

My involvement with this project included …

  • Updating the current logo
  • Large scale signage and interior design
  • New website development, research and wireframe
  • Social media channel such as Facebook and weChat

The challenge of this project was to work around the existing logo to create something new. I found it quite difficult because a lot of people in the company preferred the old style and insist on no change. So I need to compromise in order to satisfy all stakeholders by attuning the new requirements with the old style.
